From Cozy Barn to Modern Accommodation – Discover the Story of Magtár Villa!

If someone visits the Magtár Villa in Bóly today, they might not realize the fascinating history hidden within its walls, despite the sleek, modern, yet welcoming interior. This innovative and sustainable small-town accommodation originally served as a utility building. The history of the former estate barn goes back nearly a century.

The Red-Brick Stable

The barn was built by Henrik Kresz in 1936 and became known as the Red-Brick Stable among the locals. The estate building remained in the Kresz family’s ownership for over 80 years, who carefully maintained and cherished their valuable heritage. For decades, it housed horses as the city’s first brick stable, and from the 1990s onwards, the family primarily raised turkeys. Thanks to the generations of care, the structure’s integrity and the peaceful barn atmosphere were preserved.

When old values come back to life

In 2021, we purchased the Red-Brick Stable from the Kresz family and envisioned an accommodation that would carry on the spirit of the old estate while offering modern comfort to today’s guests. During the renovation, only the interior needed to be transformed, as the brick walls were in excellent condition. The rooms were placed in what was once the attic, where straw bales were stored. The elegant dining area used to be the place where the animals ruminate. This unique atmosphere is still felt in the guesthouse today.

Perfect tranquillity for relaxation, inspiration, and team building

Today, the Magtár Villa is a popular retreat for friends, business teams, entrepreneurs, and tourists. The abundant and delicious breakfast, the nearby attractions, the Villány wines, and the peaceful countryside setting make every moment spent here truly unforgettable. We warmly welcome everyone who longs for a nostalgic atmosphere in the southern corner of Hungary!
