1. 1.) Batthyány–Montenuovo Castle Park

The classicist Batthyány-Montenuovo Castle is a convenient 10-minute walk from the Magtár Villa. The centuries-old building currently houses the Platan Grove Integrated Social Institution, so only the 11-hectare park can be visited. The Castle Park is a nature reservation, where a 100-year-old giant oak tree with stems, white poplar, plane and tulip trees await nature lovers. A perfect spot for a refreshing morning stroll, a family picnic or a photo shoot.

2. 2.) Ördögárok Valley and Virágosi Wine Cellars in Villány

Villány, one of Hungary's most famous wine regions, is only 17 kilometres from Bóly. The small town offers plenty of experiences not only for wine enthusiasts but also for nature lovers, making it an ideal choice for a trip in any season. The gorge valley of the Ördögárok offers spectacular hiking trails for the whole family, and after your walk, you can relax with a glass of delicious Villány wine among the charming Virágosi wine cellars.

3. 3.) Mohács National Memorial Site

About 15 kilometers from Magtár Villa lies Mohács, a key location in Hungarian history. The Mohács National Memorial Site was established on the grounds where the Battle of Mohács took place on the 29^th August 1526, based on archaeological excavations. The park is lined with carved statues of anonymous warriors, while the modern exhibition and observation building features interactive exhibitions that bring the events and warfare of the era to life. A must-visit place for anyone who wants to get closer to history!

4. 4.) Siklós Castle

The Siklós Castle, one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Hungary, is located 28 kilometres from Bóly. Behind the castle walls, you can still experience the atmosphere of history with interactive exhibitions, seasonal events and breathtaking views. If you're in the mood for a little time travel in Southern Transdanubia, this is the place! We highly recommend the Siklós Castle Festival in August, where everyone can find fun activities.

5. 5.) Zsolnay Cultural Quarter in Pécs

Pécs, the cultural heart of the region, is only half an hour away from Bóly. The Zsolnay Cultural Quarter was built on the site of the famous Zsolnay porcelain factory in almost two years and opened in December 2011.
